Tiramisù is among the most representative desserts of Italian patisserie in the world. An exquisite and irresistible dessert, prepared in its classic version with ladyfingers, mocha coffee and mascarpone cheese. Here is a quick recipe where we will suggest some variations in case you can not find all the exact ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
500 g Mascarpone cheeses 300 g ladyfingers 170 g Sugar 6 very fresh egg yolks (at room temperature) 4 tablespoons of Brandy (optional) 4 cups of long espresso coffee 50 g Bitter cocoa powder
Ladyfingers biscuits, also known by their original Italian name savoiardi, or as sponge fingers in British English, are low density, dry and sweet sponge biscuits shaped like a large finger. You can substitute for Ladyfingers with Sponge cake cut into strips and baked to crisp for 15 minutes. To make coffee you can brew the Italian roasted or mix one cup of water with two tablespoons instant coffee granules or powder.
PREPARATION
Add 150 g of the sugar to the yolks whisk well until the mixture is clear and fluffy. Add the mascarpone cheese and work the mixture until you get a silky and light cream. Mix a tablespoon of sugar with the liqueur and coffee to make the syrup that will be used to soak the ladyfingers. Assemble your tiramisù: take a baking dish and roll out a layer of cream, then cover it with a layer of ladyfingers soaked in coffee syrup. Cover with another layer of cream, then with one of ladyfingers and so on until the ingredients run out. Dust with chocolate powder each layer. Put the cake in the fridge for at least two hours before serving.
